I'm Mike Hardy and live in York with my wife Maggie. I have a number of health issues and battle on as best I can. Some days I moan, shout and hibernate and others I can feel somewhat 'normal' When I am bad, Maggie sends to my room!
We have 2 grown up kids who, between them, have produced many grandkids - 5 boys and 1 girl and there is another on the way! We are indeed blessed and makes my life worth living.
Hope to chat, help and be of use in this forum.
Bye - Mike

Hi Mike, and welcome to the forum. Sometimes I think RA breeds other health issues, but never mind - always someone to "talk" to on here.

We have two grown-up children too - one son lives in York, with his wife and our two lovely grandsons.

Take care,

Kathleen x

BigGrin Hi Mike
A warm welcome to you!
Feel free to say what you wish, shout, moan.....share your experiences - that's what we are all here for!
I developed ra after having my daughter, the most happiest time....I had to get on with things because she needed me and my love for her helped to take the edge of ra.

I'm waiting for a knee op, it will give me better movement and less pain - and time off workSmile

Sounds lovely, all your grand children! Keep you and Maggie busy!

Take care
Jane

Hi Mike - welcome from me too. I've found this forum to be so helpful, with loads of nice people and great advice. I'm 54 with 4 teenage children and I know what you mean about kids make life worth living. I was only diagnosed earlier this year, but this RA teaches fast - I've discovered so much about myself and this disease and that has made me far more adaptable than I ever believed possible. Feel free to vent here - we're happy to listen

Sylvia xx

Hello Mike, and welcome to the forum. Thanks for the offer of support, and I hope you will find support for yourself here too. I'm Naomi. I don't have any grand children yet. My one and only son lives in Taiwan and is not thinking about babies just yet. He's too busy partying I think. I was diagnosed last September (2011) but was ill for a while before that. Something tells me you're not new to RA. How long have you had it? I'm interested to know what drugs you're on and whether they work well for you. I'm on Plaquenil and Mtx. Best wishes from Naomi. I hope to hear from you again, XXX
